Friendships day

Happy friends day!!!

This happens to be the twelveth friendships day I share with a special friend of mine. I have not met or spoken to this friend of mine. I have known him only through words.

It fills my heart with an unexplained joy whenever I think of this friendship I share. We are total strangers and yet the best of friends too. I can vouch we wouldn't be able to recognise if we happen to cross each other. Yet we know our families well. We know the milestone developments of our children, situations we tackle in lives. We get the best of advice with not a trace of jealousy or lethargy. We have not attended or witnessed the best moments in our lives but have the best wishes and prayers sent across.

In this technogically advanced times all it takes is just a touch of a button to find people but our friendship remains with no urge to find faces or coordinates. It still holds a yester year flavor to it and that is what makes it extra special.

Where my other friendships that were vouched for life, the ones in which we shared the deepest of secrets, spent hours hanging out seems to have vanished into thin air, we have stuck through thick and thin. Always there like your guardian angel.

I wish we come cross many more friendships day in our lives. So happy friendships day to you. To us.

Amongst all the faded friendships I have had there seems to be one, which is still green, tested through times and emerged as a clear winner. She has transformed herself to be more of an elder sister I don't have. In fact we should be celebrating sisters day rather than friends day. Still the being friends is something special as we choose friends. I have always seen friendship between girls fade away with time but our friendship has seen change of work places, marriage, geographical boundaries, children. Touchwood it still remains like a new found one. It has only become better with time. She has been my pillar of strength in most trying times and I'm sure she would consider me one. She has always been there for me, smacked me at times, loved me always, guided me, been a sponge as well as a pillar through trying times.
